Oscar Awards Celebrities Enjoy Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes
Cakes in "Extra" Awards Lounge and VIP Gift Bags

While the Oscar Awards have passed, Hollywood celebrities are continuing to discover 'Caribbean gold'. Luscious, golden Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes were served as part of EXTRA TV's VIP pampering in their Awards Lounge days before the Oscar show. Stars who visited and all Oscar winners received luxurious gift bags created by Jewels and Pinstripes, which included a three-month membership in the Tortuga Rum Cake Club.

From films to fashion, television to music, EXTRA has an all access pass to the entertainment world - and along with the dynamic duo of co-hosts, Dayna Devon and Mark McGrath - EXTRA offers the ultimate, inside look at the entertainment landscape. Jewels and Pinstripes, a California-based premier designer of luxury gift bags created an exquisite collection of fabulous merchandise and gift certificates for the EXTRA VIP thank-you bags.

Tortuga included a Bronze membership in the Tortuga Rum Cake Club which provides the recipient with three, monthly shipments of a 33 oz Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cake. The first request arrived even before the Oscar presentation, from Taraji Henson. She starred in the movie "Hustle & Flow" and performed the Oscar winning song. Her note said "I tasted the sample cake that was in my gift bag and WOW!!!!"
"The response has been exciting. The latest Cake Club requests came in for Charlize Theron and Felicity Huffman," says Monique Hamaty Simmonds, CEO of the Tortuga Rum Cake Company, whose family started the business based in the Cayman Islands more than 20 years ago. "We always knew that our Caribbean rum cakes were real star pleasers."

Others who joined the Tortuga Rum Cake Club include Cheryl Hines from HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm"; Grant Heslov, co-writer and producer of " Good Night and Good Luck"; EXTRA TV host Dayna Devon and producer Karen Zuker; and tennis star Alexandra Stevenson.
